HubSpot integration disconnected or failing to sync

When a connected app is disconnected, its authorization expires or a sync fails, data can stop flowing without anyone noticing. HubSpot account audit logs record many of these events. Review recent integration events, confirm whether each connection still works, and give every important integration a named owner.

Why it matters

A broken sync rarely raises an alarm. Records stop updating, deals stop arriving or contacts stop syncing to the email tool, and the team finds out weeks later from a report that looks wrong.

The same integration failing again and again is a stronger signal. It usually points to an expired credential, a permissions change or an unowned connector that nobody monitors.

How to find it in HubSpot

  1. Open Settings > Integrations > Connected apps and review each app’s status.
  2. Open the account audit log, if your subscription includes it, and filter for app, integration, sync and authorization events.
  3. Look for disconnect, failure, expiry, removal and disable actions, and note the app involved.
  4. Check whether the same app appears more than once.
  5. For each affected app, open its activity or API usage details.

How to fix it safely

  1. Name an owner for each important integration.
  2. Reconnect or reauthorize the app with an account that will not leave, and check the scopes it needs.
  3. Test the sync with a single record and confirm the data arrives on both sides before you close the issue.
  4. Where HubSpot cannot show connector-level status, add monitoring in the middleware or source system and write down the recovery steps.

How Ancil checks this

Rule
OPS-001, OPS-004
What it looks for
Reads the 100 most recent HubSpot account audit log entries and flags events that mention an app, integration, sync, OAuth, token or connector together with a disconnect, delete, remove, revoke, failure, error, expiry or disable action. It also flags any integration target that appears in two or more of these events. This is an operational signal, not proof that data is failing to sync now.
Severity
Info. Warning at 3 or more events. Repeated events for the same target are always Warning.
Evidence shown
For up to 25 events: time, category, subcategory, action and target. For repeated targets: the target and its events.
Governed fix
Not automated. Ancil reports the evidence only. Your team, or an INSIDEA expert, reconnects and tests integrations. Ancil does not change connected apps.
