HubSpot blog posts missing a title or URL slug

A published blog post needs a page title and a URL slug. A missing title weakens search results, and a missing slug makes the URL hard to manage. Find the affected posts, fix them in a draft, and add a redirect if the URL changes.

Why it matters

The page title is what search engines and AI assistants usually show for a post. A post without one competes poorly for the searches it was written for.

The slug is the readable part of the URL. Posts with a blank or unexpected slug are hard to match during a redesign or migration, which is how old posts end up as broken links.

Blog posts often earn links for years. Fixing metadata early is cheaper than recovering lost traffic later.

How to find it in HubSpot

  1. Open Content > Blog and filter to published posts.
  2. Add or review the columns for page title and URL, if your view allows it.
  3. Open the settings of any post where the title or URL looks blank or generic.
  4. For multi-language blogs, check each language version separately.

How to fix it safely

  1. Add a clear page title to each affected post in a draft before republishing.
  2. If you set or change a slug, add a redirect from the old URL to the new one.
  3. Check the canonical URL and any language variants after the change.
  4. Republish, then open the live URL and confirm the title and address are correct.

Before you change anything: Changing the slug of a live post changes its URL. Without a redirect, every existing link to it breaks.
