HubSpot pages sharing the same URL

When more than one published website or landing page resolves to the same URL, only one can be what visitors see, and the other creates confusion for editors, search engines and migrations. Find the duplicates, confirm which page is live, and retire the other with a redirect if needed.

WebsiteCMS-008Updated 2026-10-28

Why it matters

Editors may update the page that is not actually live, so changes appear to do nothing.

Duplicates confuse canonical URLs and redirects. Search engines can index the wrong version, and a migration can carry both pages across.

Duplicate URLs often come from cloning a page, from domain changes, or from a landing page and a website page built for the same campaign.

How to find it in HubSpot

  1. Open Content > Website Pages and Content > Landing Pages and filter to published pages.
  2. Sort or export each list by URL.
  3. Look for the same address appearing twice, ignoring a trailing slash and letter case.
  4. Open the live URL in a browser to see which page actually loads.

How to fix it safely

  1. Decide which page is the real one, with input from the page and campaign owners.
  2. Move any content or forms still needed from the duplicate to the live page.
  3. Unpublish or archive the duplicate, and give it a new URL or a redirect if it was ever linked to directly.
  4. Check campaign links, emails and ads that pointed to either page.

Before you change anything: Confirm which page is live and which campaigns depend on it before you unpublish anything. Unpublishing the wrong page takes it offline.

How Ancil checks this

Rule
CMS-008
What it looks for
Reads up to 500 website pages and up to 500 landing pages. Among published or scheduled pages, it normalizes each URL by lowercasing it and removing a trailing slash, then flags any URL shared by more than one page.
Severity
Warning.
Evidence shown
Up to 25 duplicate URL groups, each with the IDs of the pages that share it.
Governed fix
Not automated. Ancil does not unpublish or change pages. It reports the duplicates, and your team (or an INSIDEA expert) decides which page stays.
